Uit Het Gareel is an art and music festival in the city centre of The Hague which gives local artist, musicians and dj’s the opportunity to show themselves. By giving them a platform to be heard and seen in a low pressure way.
Festival manager Frederique the Zeeuw visited Cape Town and got inspired by their ´First Thursday´s, an event on the first Thursday of the month where galleries, shops and bars open their doors to introduce visitors to the local art and music Cape Town as to offer. First Thursday is thé night of the month in Cape Town.
“The Hague also deserves a place where local art and music come together. I saw what happened in Cape Town, that’s why I got inspired to bring a concept like First Thursday to The Hague. It’s not only the stepping stone for emerging talent but also an event where well-known leaders show their skills.” Frederique de Zeeuw – Manager Uit Het Gareel During the festival, art exhibitions will be opened at various locations in the city while visitors can enjoy local music. The art remains exhibit at the venues until the next edition of the festival.
